Facebook is forging ahead with its mission to support businesses and make shopping on its platform easier through a string of new features that’ve been rolled out left and right. The expansion of Instagram formats has led “Reels ads” to become the most recent point of interest as of last month.

Social Blue was one of the first lead generation agencies to focus on Facebook advertising to generate solid leads for high-profile clients. In 2018, Social Blue became an official Facebook partner. Ever since, we’ve incorporated new features and grasped opportunities such as lead ads, audience networks, and also started using Instagram as an advertising channel shortly after it was acquired by Facebook. As an early adopter, we’ve been regularly testing their latest features, and we’re happy to share some of our thoughts about Instagram Reels ads.

Instagram Reels ads
First Instagram’s popular Reels were enriched with stats to give more insights. More recently, Reels ads – a great way for people to discover new content – were launched.

As with regular Reels content, these ads are set to loop and can last up to 30 seconds. These differ from Story ads that are only 15-seconds long. With Reels ads, you also have room for a post description at the bottom of the ad. Another advantage is that users can like, view, save and share Reels Ads. These new ads appear in your regular feed, but also in several tabs such as Stories and the Reels tab. Your content can also be viewed in the Explore tab, and this means that people who are not following you will be able to watch your content.

Reels is the best place on Instagram to reach people who don’t follow you and a growing global stage where brands and creators can be discovered by anyone. These ads will help businesses reach greater audiences, allowing people to discover inspiring new content from brands and creators.
